THE KINGS OF THE EAST

The door of magic

The figure of the Kings of the East has its roots in ancient Persia, where these three wise men, "magicians" or "magi", were counselors and priests of the Zoroastrian religion. According to Christian tradition, they undertook a long journey from the East to Bethlehem, guided by a shining star, to pay homage to the birth of Jesus. Each king brought a gift loaded with symbolism: gold represented royalty, frankincense divinity, and myrrh the child's mortality.

Over time, this legend spread, and the Kings of the East became a universal symbol of generosity and hope in many cultures. In Spain and other countries, its arrival on January 6 is commemorated with parades and parties, where gifts are distributed to children, keeping their excitement alive. This tradition not only evokes the charm of Christmas, but also highlights the importance of sharing and giving.
